Which CDAC center is Best according to my rank?

Hi,

Cdac, a place where we can get job. yes, Job the only reason we go to cdac now after you appeared in the exam and have your results with you, the main confusion start now that which center to choose according to your rank.

The common scenario which is seen is Rank 1-500 go for ACTS-DAC,500-900 Sunbeam-DAC, 900-1500 IACDS,etc. Students follow this and gets in trouble by not choosing the best centre and course for them.

Today by this article I will help you to choose the best center and course which will help you to get the best suitable job for you.

So first question is after you have your result how to start?

Start exploring yourself first, are you okay with coding suff ?, are you looking for some development job? are you passionate about coding stuff? or passionate about security and network breaching? or excited about device designs?

after you clear yourself with everything now ask your self other questions like Do you want only study environment, and are able to work yourself within competition? or you want someone to put attention on every student? or you want someone to force you to study?

once some basic questions are clear and you have the answers, now you are ready to get the best Institute and best course for you?

In the following sequence first I will guide on how to choose center followed by details about courses which will help you get the best.

Which is best Institute/Center?

Every center gives their best in terms of teaching and placements, but which one is best for me? is the question every one ask. now let me tell you some brief which I along with some of my friends from different Institutes have realized about these centers, so if you think that you know the stuff and can do most of the things on your own but need some competitive environment to groom yourself CDAC-ACTS is the best place, trust me it is best if you know the basics and have some idea about technology and are ready to give the maximum, choose it only if you need a great competition from you peers. You will find some crazy people over here who are so much dedicated towards their CDAC journey which will motivate you to work hard, students come to class at 7 am even though class starts from 9 am to get the seat in the first row.

--> Now If you are dedicated but need some push from teachers go to Sunbeam, it will nourish you to your best and try to make you the best in the crowd but your cooperation also required, If you are a non-Marathi speaking person you won't like this place much because teachers also speak Marathi sometimes during lectures.

-->Now If you are afraid of competition and want a secured place where you can excel go to Bangalore CDAC-KP, yes because of less seats this campus offers you ample opportunity to excel, also being the IT HUB, some excellent Bangalore KP students find jobs before even placements starts, but teaching quality will degrade.

-->IACSD, choose this campus if you want someone to stand behind your back and make you sit for long hours and make you to work hard, It is a boon for lazy people. IACSD has the best CDAC campus but they also prefer Marathi, but it is boon for students who can't do hard work on their own.

-->Now If you have a lower rank than 1500-2000 these options are not for you then what to do?
so Sunbeam Karad and Bangalore E-city is for you, with the same teacher sunbeam Karad is best option if you have slightly lower rank.The same is the case with Know-IT, but generally it is preferred after Karad.

-->If you want only a job, no matter how much salary is but getting a good job is the priority you can blindly choose CDAC Mumbai, yes this is the place which gives almost 90% placements(as per a article I have read 3years back).

-->Now there are still so many centers like CDAC Jaipur,Indore,YCP,Nagpur,Noida,etc. students from this Institutes were not so happy as the teaching standards as well as exposure to the techonlogy and competition was not up to the mark.

In a short view I based on my understanding are giving marks out of 10.

InstituteTeachingPlacementsQuality of StudentsLevel of ComepetionFocus on every studentOverallMistakes
CDAC-ACTS8.58.599.578Focuses more on english and aptitude rather than focusing on Technical studies
Sunbeam888.58.58.58Don’t permit students to stay till late night for doubt solving and studying
Sunbeam Karad7.577797.5Out of town not much availability of regular items
Banglore CDAC6.587.5757Students generally complaint that teachers do not teach regularly and also skips important topics
IACDS7.57.57797.5Marathi Complexion
Banglore Ecity776676.8
Hyderabad5.567766.5Only good for Embedded, according to students.
KnowIT776676.8

Mumbai CDAC Juhu7.5977.587.5Cost of living is high
Jaipur644566Same teacher teaching multiple subjects
Indore555476
Others555555Need to Improve the quality of everything
*** The above rating is as per my understanding and comments are based on what I have get from my friends who was part of the institute, there is no direct or indirect source of information for this and it should not be considered as the valid resource.

Now after this Information I think it will be easy for you people to select the best Institute now comes the mostdifficult part which course to choose.

Which Course to choose?

Cdac has grown widely in past years in their popularity as well as in their quality of teaching, this is the reason they now have so much to offer to their students. Now more options always create confusion, so let me take you to each and every course so that you can take the decision nicely also I will mention the comments added by my friends who was part of the particular course.

1. PG-DAC {Diploma in Advance Computing}

The flagship course, as it is the oldest course and have placed many students in their dream job. It is highly in demand and according to many people CCAT happens only because of this course.
Now why it is in so much demand, because as per past trends it is believed that maximum students gets placed from DAC, but it is not the fact, so what is reality?
Reality is every center has this course and maximum seats are for this course only due to which it is believed that maximum placements go for it.
Now according to market trends the course and syllabus of DAC is outdated and not many companies are looking forward for it as it is easy to get a developer even from a local college, than why should company hire from CDAC.
So when should one choose DAC?
If you want to create some dynamic websites or want to create some solution for any particular problem and interested in coding and stuff, then go for it. It will give you the boost and a correct path to succeed.

2. PG-DMC {Diploma in Mobile Computing}

This is know as alternative to the DAC course, which is again a wrong assumptions, students generally believe that if you are not getting good rank to get into DAC, choose DMC and get them self in  trouble.
Now what this course offers you?
With the advancement of technology we have seen every business now is in need of a mobile app or a mobile solution rather than some desktop solution, and this course help you to build that skills.
With technology like AR,VR,MR and DeepLearning tools like AmazonAlex many mobile applications are now suitable to control and build businesses which is making a huge demand for mobile developers in market and will be there till people will use cellphones.
Choose this course if you like to make some mobile solutions. Image you building a game like PUBG interesting, isn't it?

3. PG-DBDA {Diploma in Big Data and Analytics}

With things moving on to the cloud, data is the major thing which is taken into consideration. After it is data analyst job is considered as sexiest job of century by a magazine students are crazy for it. Also many CDAC centers are now offering this course which was earlier restricted to only ACTS.
Now what it is all about?
DBDA course proved well in for the first two batches but craze gets down after many centers offers this course and increase the no of seats.
I have seen companies asking even DBDA students to know java and scala where as students are more focused on tools like R and tableau.
With so much of data companies are looking forward to analyze form the past data and create a corrective measures for the feature i.e predictive analysis.
This course is full about modelling, mathematics,statistics,etc. but in CDAC students always complaints about the faculties. As this is a new course even though a demand in market a lot of improvement is needed.
If you choose this course make sure you put attention to even programming languages like JAVA and Scala. Because in the end DBDA students also have to go through data-structures questions in the interview.

4. PG-DITISS {Diploma in IT infrastructure system and security}

With things are moving on to cloud, even services like AWS are now pushing servers on to cloud companies are more worrying about their data security and maintenance and are looking for cyber security people heavily. It is predicted by some company that with the evolution of IT and more AI and cloud technology there will be more and more need of certified and qualified security engineers.
In CDAC many demand for DITISS course is seen and that's the reason the course is not also started by Sunbeam and IACSD which was earlier restricted to only ACTS and Bangalore.
This is one of my favorite course with very good syllabus, but problem is again with the faculty, not even a single center has good faculty, like they have for DAC course. So in case you choose this make sure to work hard and learn from your own rather than to be dependent on faculty and center.

5. PG-DESD {Diploma in Embedded System Design}

This course is a boon to students from electrical,electronics and instrumentation background who are looking forward for a career where they can work with Raspberry-pi,ARM,PLC and lot more.
But this course is more focused on the software part rather than designing part and students have always complaints about this.
But this is the course which will always be in demand among students as well as companies and students who want to take this course has only one confusion that which center to choose ACTS,Hyderabad ?
 So as per some students from all these centers ACTS focuses more on Operating System where as Hyderabad focuses on C and C++. as per past students Hyderabad is degrading its reputation and ACTS is more into it, Sunbeam is also equivalently good. Still it is advisable for students to talk to the students and then make decision.

6. PG-DVLSI {Diploma in VLSI Design}

No matter wherever technology reach VLSI will always be in demand and CDAC provides a great path for VLSI students to reach their dream job. But you will find companies offering a variety of package to the VLSI students. Also it is consider as a tough course as it includes every aspects for designing and communicating devices.
A really great career in this field is what students have found, so if you are choosing this tighten your seat belt and start studying harder to get the most highest package ever.

7. PG-DIOT {Diploma in Internet of Things}

IOT is gaining its popularity in the market as well as in IT world as more and more number of devices are into the market, and it is in the boom but in CDAC students are complaining about the quality of teaching and also said that the course syllabus is not upto the mark.
But in some time we are expecting that it will boom and other institute will also start this course as currently it is available only in ACTS.

8. PG-DHPCSA {Diploma in HPC Administration}

Currently HPCSA is not in demand in the Indian market but will soon be in demand, this course in cdac is lacking faculty due to which students found themselves without any guidance.
But this is also one of the course which will boom like DBDA and DITISS.

Currently I do not have information about other courses, and I hope the above details will help you to make a good decision. After all choice is yours make a wise decision and make sure to be dedicated towards your studies your time and also enjoy your upcoming 6 months, because this is time you will miss more. Also make sure to prepare well before your classes begins it will help you a lot.

No matter what your rank is you can always get your desired center as well as course all you need is to wait and fill centers accordingly I have seen people with 700-800 ranks getting CDAC-ACTS in DAC, with proper counselling, also a trick is to wait till the 3rd round where most of the centers and courses have 10-15 seats which you can grab in the end,but it is a risky step so make decision wisely.
In the end ALL THE VERY BEST FOR YOUR FUTURE.

Note: This is a guidance provided for the students and should not be considered as the only option to make your decision. In the end it will be your choice to choose whatever you want.

PS : Kindly Ignore Grammatical errors. Far any mistake and feedback kindly post comments.

Disclaimer :: This article is fully based on past experience of some students and no cdac center or any person is responsible for it. It is just meant to be guidance for the students who are about to take admission in the cdac. No person is responsible for the decision you make further.

Kindly share this article with your friends and juniors which will help them take corrective steps.

Ccat Cdac Exam Tips and Doubts

HI,

Since you are reading this blog I assume that you are planning to write C-CAT exam and get into CDAC, so here are the basic information about the exam and tips to score a rank within 300.

First of all the exam is neither very simple nor very tough, since anyone can write the exam for both the dates available here is I am sharing my experience on both and then i will tell you guys how to prepare for it.

Exam consist of 3 sections and you will always find section A (Aptitude and English) very easy but time consuming, as it has only one hour and to make it difficult they will provide the values in decimal in the question so you need to be prepared for it, it will be good to practice all the Tables till 25.
I found out that in One paper they take questions of English and Logical reasoning from http://www.indiabix.com/   and in other paper Aptitude was from here, so it is clear that first paper is easy for those who know the basics and  had solved all the questions from Indiabix.

Now One important thing the link where you will give exam does not have any Clock or Timer on it, so you will never know how much time is left and you need to be as quick as possible.

Now the experience of paper B I will rate the  paper 3 out of 5, the only reason students found it tough is because of the language based questions, I remember some of the questions like

1. Which of the following is true for Heap?
2. Which of the following is not true for Binary Tree?

you will find many questions of this type for DS. Also they may ask conditions for traversing of empty or full of queue, stack,linked-list etc.,you may expect many questions on binary tree,BFS,DFS,binary search, selection sorting,merge sort,etc. so prepare well for it.

C is simple if you know the basics specially associativity,Macros,pointers,array, strings. But basics is must, you can practice all the available questions on Indiabix for it.

For Networking, people who never take this subject in engineering seriously will found it difficult as because they will ask questions based on wireless technology, Ip configuration, OSI model, DOD model,IPv6,IPv4,etc.

For Operating system again questions from basic terminology is what they ask for, you should be good with basics to hit any question, you may found many new terminology which was not found easily in books.

OOP with C++ was easy and based mostly on Inheritance,polymorphism, exception-throw, STL,shallow copy-deep copy,virtual concepts,etc.

Now comes experience of writing paper C, It was was moderate I can say 2.5 out of 5.
Students who belong to electronics may find that so many questions asked belong to their syllabus of engineering, its rare that you may find any new terminology unlike in paper B.

You may find Microprocessor tough because many questions are asked from it, topics like i/o devices, interfacing,microprocessor architecture,logic operations,interrupt, and converters(D/A-A/D).

Digital Logic part was easy, simple theoretical questions on Flip-Flops,Clock,Registers,Logic Gates,K map,and conversion(BCD,Hexa,Octal).

Computer Architecture mainly questions asked are from Addressing modes, Machine Instruction,Memory Interfacing,cache memory,main memory,etc. I will suggest to go to NPTEL lectures of COA.

Now comes the main part of this Blog, that is from where and how to prepare for the exam
Okay!!!! so i am right now revealing some websites from where you can get the questions directly asked in exam without even modification.
But I will let you know the things in a proper sequence, and follow this to get the maximum marks.

First, If you are not planning to join any pre-dac course provided by many private C-DAC centre then you must buy Yashavant Kanetkar "Let Us C" and "Let Us C++" ready every chapter of these book and meanwhile solve the questions at the end of every chapter and go through Indiabix for every chapter questions.

For Aptitude and English and Logical Reasoning Indiabix is enough, once you have gone through every question of Indiabix now time to move on to http://www.lofoya.com/
I think if you will practice from these two sites, it will be sufficient.

For Networking go through first three chapters of Forouzan first and then follow the link:
www.logicguns.com/accounts/ref/?code=anPv

Its a referral link, go to it and create your own account and go through every question of Networking followed by DS and OS.

I found 100% questions of Networking from this website.

For Operating system also visit http://www.careerride.com/
And for DS study the concepts from Study tonight www.studytonight.com/
and practice from http://placementstudy.com/computer-science-engineering/92/data-structure/

For Section C , first study the concepts from NPTEL and solve the questions from Indiabix.

For every topic and every section first go through  the concepts and chapter and solve Indiabix at the end of chapter, If you will do this you have done 50% of your work for rest 50% practice from the site I have mentioned.

There is No guarantee that questions will be asked from these sites only, But this is what I have found
and these were the websites from where I did all the practice.

Remember the more you practice more you will get. Solve at-least 4000-5000 questions to get a rank within 300.

And remember be chill and avoid silly mistakes and you will hit the maximum.

Thanks

Which CDAC center is Best according to my rank?

Hi, Cdac, a place where we can get job. yes, Job the only reason we go to cdac now after you appeared in the exam and have your results ...
